Visualhealth Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I see wounds appear on mobs?
Simply attack any mob with a weapon or your fist. Wounds will instantly appear on their body, with more damage marks showing as their health decreases. The type of weapon you use will create different wound patterns.
Can I turn off damage marks on peaceful animals?
Yes, open the settings menu and disable wounds for specific mob types like cows, pigs, or sheep. This lets you keep battle marks visible only on hostile monsters if you prefer.
Why do different mobs show different colored wounds?
The mod automatically matches wound colors to each creature's natural appearance—spiders show light blue marks, creepers show dark green, and Endermen display glowing wounds. You can customize these colors using hex codes in the configuration screen.
How do I change the color of wounds for a specific mob?
Open the configuration screen and find the color codes section for each creature type. Enter a custom hex color code to change how that mob's wounds appear in battle.
Does this mod work with resource packs?
Yes, Visualhealth works perfectly alongside popular resource packs like Fresh Animations without breaking custom animal models or textures.
Can I adjust how many wounds show up on damaged mobs?
Open the settings menu to control wound visibility—you can increase marks on low-health enemies or reduce them for a subtler effect.
Do different weapons create different looking wounds?
Yes, swords, axes, tridents, and spears each leave unique marks on targets. Punches, fire damage, and fall damage also create their own generic wound patterns.
Will wounds help me tell when an enemy is about to die?
Absolutely—heavily damaged mobs show many cuts and scrapes, while lightly hurt creatures only have minor marks, so you can judge their remaining health just by looking at their body.
Do glowing wounds work in dark caves?
Yes, Endermen and the Ender Dragon display glowing wounds that light up brightly in dark spaces, making them easy to spot underground.
Does this mod affect performance?
The mod is designed to integrate smoothly with Minecraft, but you can adjust wound visibility settings if you experience performance issues on lower-end systems.
