How to Find a Villager With a Specific Trade

Know What to Look For

Decide which item or enchantment you need, then check villagers until you find one whose menu shows that trade, whether active or locked. The mod lets you see locked offers, so a villager that cannot yet provide the item may still be a match once levelled.

Scan Villagers Quickly

Visit each villager in your village or trading hall and open its menu. Glance down the full list for the item you want. If it is not there at all, move on. If it appears greyed out, this villager is a candidate.

Level the Right Candidate

Pick the villager whose locked list contains your target trade and trade with it to raise its level. Reopen the menu after each level to watch the greyed-out row become usable. Once it is active, complete the trade you came for.

Keep a Shortlist

If several villagers show the trade you want, compare the quantities and costs on their rows and choose the cheapest. Note the others in case you need more of the item later. This turns a guessing game into a straightforward search, because you never have to level a villager just to find out what it sells.
