How to Compare Trades Between Multiple Villagers

Check Each Villager's Full List

Open the trading menu for one villager and scroll through every row, including the greyed-out locked ones. Note the items and rough quantities on the offers you care about. Close the menu and repeat with the next villager.

Spot the Best Deal

Since locked trades are visible, you can judge a villager by its entire potential stock rather than just its starting offers. A villager whose first trade looks weak might have an excellent locked trade further down. Compare the same item across villagers to find who gives the most for the least.

Decide Who to Level Up

Once you have compared, invest your trading effort in the villager with the best locked offers. Trade with it repeatedly to raise its experience level, which unlocks the greyed-out rows one tier at a time. Keep checking the menu after each level-up to confirm the trade you wanted has become active.

This workflow saves emeralds and time. Instead of levelling several villagers blindly, you level only the ones whose hidden trades are actually worth unlocking, and you can walk away from villagers whose full list does not interest you.
