Managing Maggot Spawning

As organs rot on the ground, maggots can emerge from the decaying flesh. This feature is optional and can be toggled based on your preference.

How to Enable or Disable Maggots

1. Access your world rules or server configuration menu

2. Find the Maggot Spawn setting

3. Toggle it to On to allow maggots to appear on decomposing remains

4. Toggle it to Off to prevent maggots from spawning entirely

5. Save and reload your world

When to Use Each Setting

Enable maggots if you enjoy the full visceral experience—the buzzing flies and writhing insects add immersion to a gritty survival world. Disable them if you find the effect distracting, performance-heavy, or simply too graphic. Many players toggle maggots off during peaceful exploration and turn them back on for combat-focused sessions.

Maggots only spawn on remains that are actively decaying, so adjusting this setting won't affect already-spawned insects—only future decomposition.
