Remove Armor from a Villager

Removing Player-Given Armor

Armor you've manually equipped can be removed, but naturally spawned armor cannot be taken off by hand.

Steps to Remove

1. Empty your main hand: Make sure you're not holding any items.

2. Sneak: Hold the sneak key (default: Shift).

3. Right-click the armored villager: While sneaking with an empty hand, right-click on the villager wearing the armor you want to remove.

4. Armor drops: The piece will fall to the ground as an item, ready to be picked up.

5. Repeat for each piece: Remove helmets, chestplates, and boots one at a time using the same method.

Important Notes

  • This method only works on armor you equipped yourself.
  • Naturally spawned armor (found on villagers in generated villages) cannot be removed by hand and will only drop if the villager is defeated.
  • Make sure you're actually sneaking—regular right-clicking won't remove the armor.
