Using the Bonus Chest With a Village Start

Enable the Bonus Chest Before Generating

This mod is compatible with the vanilla bonus chest world option. On the world creation screen, turn on the bonus chest toggle before you click create. When the world loads, the bonus chest is placed near the village spawn point rather than at a random wilderness location, so you get both the village and the starter loot in one spot.

Why This Combo Is Strong

A village already gives you beds, food, and tradeable villagers. Adding the bonus chest on top means you start with extra tools, wood, and sometimes food without chopping a single tree. This is especially useful for modpacks where early-game progression is slow.

  • The bonus chest appears close to where you spawn, so look around the immediate area if you do not see it right away.
  • Do not break the chest before emptying it — the items inside are your free head start.
  • If the chest is missing, the bonus chest option was likely left off at world creation; it cannot be added afterward.

Combine the chest contents with village loot (hay bales, crops, and chests in houses) to skip the first few hours of grinding.
