Setting Up a Village Start for a Modpack
Why Pack Creators Use This Mod
For modpack authors, a guaranteed village start gives every player a consistent, safe beginning. Instead of spawning in random terrain, players always begin at a village center, which means immediate access to beds, food, and villagers for trading. This smooths the early game and reduces the chance of a frustrating spawn.
Configuring It for Your Pack
- Include the mod in your pack's mod list so it applies to every new world by default.
- Decide whether to recommend the bonus chest option in your pack's documentation, since it stacks well with a village start.
- Test with your pack's other world-generation mods to confirm they do not override the spawn placement.
- If your pack uses a fixed seed or a custom world preset, verify a village still generates near the origin, or the spawn snap will fail.
Player-Facing Notes
Tell your players that spawn placement only happens at world creation. Existing saves will not be affected. Also warn them that if terrain mods move structures away from the origin, the nearest village may be far away. A short note in your pack description about expected spawn behavior saves a lot of support questions.
