Getting Started with Coaster Seats

Coaster seats are the foundation of any rideable contraption. Before you can customize or ride, you need to craft one.

Crafting a Coaster Seat

1. Gather the required crafting materials. You'll need wood, dye, and other basic resources—check your crafting table or JEI for the exact recipe.

2. Open your crafting table and arrange materials according to the recipe.

3. Craft your coaster seat. It will appear in your inventory in the default color (typically white or undyed).

4. Carry the seat to your moving contraption—a train car, elevator platform, or roller coaster track.

5. Place the seat block directly onto the surface where you want riders to sit. The seat will attach to the moving structure and move with it.

6. Right-click the placed seat with an empty hand to test it. You should be able to sit down immediately.

Your coaster seat is now ready to use. You can ride it as your contraption moves, and passengers will stay seated even during turns and elevation changes. If you want to customize the appearance or angle, see the recoloring and posture adjustment guides.
