Adjust Heat Haze Effects in Hot Biomes

Locate Heat Haze Settings

Open the shader configuration menu and find the Heat Haze or Distortion section. This effect creates a shimmering, wavy appearance in hot environments.

Visit Heat-Affected Areas

Travel to biomes and dimensions where heat haze activates:

  • The Nether: Most intense heat haze effect
  • Desert biomes: Moderate wavy distortion
  • Badlands: Subtle shimmer effect
  • Near lava sources: Heat haze concentrates around flowing lava

Observe the Effect

Look at distant blocks and the horizon. You should see a subtle wavering or ripple effect, similar to heat rising from hot pavement. The effect is most noticeable when looking across long distances.

Fine-Tune Intensity

Return to shader settings and adjust the Heat Haze Strength slider:

  • Lower values: Subtle, realistic shimmer
  • Higher values: More dramatic, stylized distortion

Disable if Unwanted

If heat haze causes discomfort or performance issues, toggle it off entirely. The feature is optional and doesn't affect gameplay mechanics.
