Verlixia Shaders FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I turn on colored block lighting?
Open the shader settings menu (usually Shift+O by default), navigate to Lighting options, and enable Colored Block Lighting. Blocks like glowstone, lamps, and lava will now cast their own colored light onto nearby surfaces.
Why does everything look too bright or too dark?
Adjust the Brightness slider in shader settings, or check if your Ambient Occlusion and Bloom intensity settings are too high. You can also fine-tune individual light sources under the Lighting menu.
How do I reduce lag if my computer is slow?
Go to shader settings and switch to the Low or Medium performance profile instead of Fast. You can also disable Heat Haze, reduce Bloom intensity, and lower shadow distance to improve frame rate.
Do wet reflections work in the rain?
Yes, when it rains, water puddles and wet surfaces will reflect the sky and light sources realistically. Make sure Wet Reflections is enabled in the shader settings under Visual Effects.
Why don't my custom texture packs look right?
Verlixia Shaders supports PBR textures, but older texture packs may not include the required normal and roughness maps. Use texture packs that are designed for PBR shaders, or disable PBR support in settings if you prefer non-PBR packs.
Can I use this shader with other mods?
Verlixia Shaders works with most mods, but mods that heavily modify lighting or add custom blocks may cause visual conflicts. Test compatibility by enabling the shader and checking for obvious visual glitches.
What's the heat haze effect and where do I see it?
Heat haze creates a wavy distortion in the air above hot blocks like lava and magma in the Nether and deserts. You can adjust its intensity in shader settings under Visual Effects.
How do I make bright lights glow more?
Increase the Bloom intensity slider in the shader settings under Visual Effects. Higher values make glowing blocks and light sources spread their glow further across the screen.
Why is my framerate dropping with this shader?
Switch to a lower performance profile in shader settings, reduce shadow distance and quality, disable Heat Haze, or lower Bloom intensity. You can also check if your render distance is too high.
Do I need to change my video settings in Minecraft?
For best results, set Minecraft's Graphics to Fast, disable VSync if you have frame rate issues, and adjust render distance based on your computer's performance. Shader settings will override most Minecraft graphics options.
