The V key is your fastest way to reorganize tools and blocks during active gameplay. Pressing V instantly exchanges the contents of your satchel with the first six slots of your active hotbar, letting you switch between two complete loadouts in one keystroke.

Practical Swap Strategies

Set up your satchel with tools or blocks you use less frequently—like specialized mining picks, enchanted shovels, or decorative blocks—while keeping your most-used items in your hotbar. When you need to switch tasks, press V to swap everything at once.

For example: keep your main pickaxe, torches, and building blocks in your hotbar while mining. When you need to switch to farming, press V to instantly equip a hoe, seeds, and water bucket from your satchel.

You can also use Shift+number keys to place individual items directly into satchel slots without opening your inventory, letting you organize on the fly. This combination of quick-swapping and selective placement makes the satchel invaluable for players who frequently switch between multiple tasks.
