Verctes Satchels Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I craft a satchel?
Craft a satchel using leather and other basic materials in a crafting table—check your crafting menu for the exact recipe. Once crafted, equip it like any other item to activate its six extra storage slots beneath your hotbar.
What's the keybind to swap items between my hotbar and satchel?
Press V to instantly swap the contents of your satchel with the first six slots of your active hotbar. You can rebind this key in your controls settings if needed.
How do I put items directly into my satchel without swapping?
Hold Shift and press any hotbar number key (1–6) to place an item directly into the corresponding satchel slot without affecting your active hotbar.
Can I dye my satchel different colors?
Yes—place your satchel in a crafting grid with any color dye to customize its appearance. You can dye it as many times as you want to match your style.
Do satchel slots show up inside chests and other containers?
Yes, your satchel slots appear below the container's inventory menu in vanilla chests, barrels, crafting tables, and many modded containers, letting you manage items without closing the screen.
Will my satchel work with modded containers like cooking pots?
The mod is designed to connect with custom menus from other mods, so your satchel slots should display in most popular modded containers—though compatibility depends on how the mod is built.
Can I use a satchel with Curios or other interface mods?
Yes, Vercte's Satchels is compatible with Curios, JEI, EMI, and similar interface mods, so it integrates smoothly into your modded setup.
What happens if I drop my satchel or die?
Your satchel drops as an item like any other equipped gear—pick it back up to restore access to its stored contents.
Can I have multiple satchels at once?
You can carry multiple satchels in your inventory, but only one equipped satchel provides active storage slots at a time; equip a different one to switch which satchel's contents you access.
Does the satchel affect my performance or cause lag?
The satchel is designed to work cleanly with vanilla and modded screens without performance issues, though results may vary depending on your system and other mods installed.
