How to Veinmine Your First Ore Vein

Mining a Vein

Once the plugin is active, veinmining is mostly automatic. Walk up to an ore vein and break one block of it with the correct tool for that ore. If the plugin recognizes the block as veinmineable and your tool is valid, every connected ore of the same type in that cluster will break at the same time, and the drops will appear as normal.

You do not need to press a special key by default. Just mine the block the way you always would. If nothing extra breaks, the block is either not on the veinmineable list, your tool is not the right type, or veinmining is toggled off.

Checking Why It Did Not Work

  • Confirm veinmining is on by running /veinminer toggle and reading the chat response.
  • Run /veinminer blocks to see which blocks are currently veinmineable. If your ore is missing, an operator needs to add it.
  • Make sure you are using the tool the ore expects. Ores that normally need a pickaxe will not chain if you swing a shovel at them.
  • Stand close enough that the whole vein is within range. Very large veins may be capped by the max chain setting, so only part of the cluster breaks.

If a vein is huge and only some blocks pop, that is the chain limit doing its job, not a bug.
