Veinminer Mod FAQ

Hold the veinmine key (check your controls for the assigned bind) while breaking a block with a valid pickaxe, and the whole connected vein of the same ore breaks at once. If nothing happens, the block you're targeting may not be a vein-type block or your tool can't normally mine it.

The most common causes are: your pickaxe isn't allowed by the mod's config, the ore requires a higher tier tool than the one you're holding, or you're not holding the veinmine activation key. Also check that veinmining isn't on cooldown from a previous use.

By default you must hold the veinmine key while mining; it isn't automatic. You can change the keybind in your controls settings if the default conflicts with another mod.

Keep veinmining blocks — each successful veinmine grants experience toward your next mining level. As you level up, the maximum number of blocks you can break in a single vein increases, and you can view or spend progress through the mod's in-game GUI.

The mod applies a hunger cost per block broken to balance the speed advantage of veinmining. Bring food while mining, or adjust the hunger multiplier in the config if you're playing singleplayer or running the server.

That's the cooldown, which limits how often you can trigger a veinmine. It's configurable, so server admins can raise or lower it, and some pickaxes or levels may affect it.

Yes — the mod supports connected-block veinmining for logs, and depending on config, other block types too. The blocks must be the same type and connected to the one you break.

Very large veins produce a huge number of item drops and block updates at once, which can lag both client and server. Break large veins in chunks or lower the max vein size in the config to reduce the spike.

It generally works with any block tagged as an ore and any tool that can mine it, including many modded ones, but compatibility depends on how those mods register their blocks and tools. If a specific modded ore won't veinmine, it likely isn't tagged correctly or is excluded in the config.

Yes — the config lets you restrict veinmining to specific tools, and server admins can disable it globally or per-dimension. If veinmining suddenly stops working on a server, it's usually a config restriction rather than a bug.
