How Ore Glow Works

Veinify makes diamonds, emeralds, gold, and other valuable ores emit light in dark caves. This glow cuts through darkness so you can spot them from a distance without needing torches pointed directly at the ore.

Finding Ores Efficiently

1. Mine at low light levels — The glow is most visible in complete darkness. Caves below Y-level 0 show ore highlights best.

2. Look for the glow — Scan cave walls and ceilings as you move. Glowing ores stand out against dark stone and deepslate.

3. Use the glow to navigate — Follow clusters of glowing ore to find ore veins. This saves time compared to strip-mining.

4. Combine with torches — Place torches to mark your path while the ores guide your mining direction.

Special Cases

Ancient Debris in the Nether appears pale white instead of dark brown, making it visible against Netherrack even without the glow effect. Suspicious sand and gravel also have increased contrast so you can spot them before brushing.

The glow effect respects vanilla ore distribution, so you'll still need to reach the correct Y-levels for different ores.
