Find Diamond Veins Efficiently

Understand Diamond Spawn Heights

Diamonds in Vast Mineral Seams generate within specific Y-level ranges. Check your mod configuration to see the min_y and max_y values for diamonds—these define the vertical boundaries where veins can appear. Most default configurations place diamonds deeper underground.

Mining Strategy

1. Dig to the correct depth range using your configuration's min_y value as a target. Use a pickaxe to descend safely.

2. Mine horizontally once you reach the target depth. Vast Mineral Seams creates large clustered deposits, so you're more likely to find multiple diamonds in one area rather than scattered singles.

3. Listen for cave systems—veins often expose themselves on cave walls. Explore caverns at the right depth to spot ore clusters visually.

4. Use strip mining if caves aren't available. Create parallel tunnels spaced a few blocks apart to maximize your chances of intersecting a vein.

5. Bring a Fortune pickaxe to multiply your diamond yield when you do find a seam.

Adjust Settings if Needed

If diamonds feel too rare or too common, ask your server admin or check the config file. The vein_size_multiplier and attempt_multiplier values control how big and how frequently veins spawn. Increasing these makes diamonds easier to locate.
