Make Glowing Blocks and Light Sources More Prominent
Access Emissive and Glow Settings
Open shader options and find the section labeled "Emissive," "Glow," or "Light Emission." VanillaRTXLite includes controls for how brightly glowing blocks illuminate their surroundings.
Adjust Glow Intensity and Spread
Common controls include:
- Emissive Brightness: Controls how bright glowing blocks (torches, lanterns, glowing blocks) appear. Increase to make them stand out more; decrease for subtle lighting.
- Light Bloom: Adds a halo effect around bright light sources. Higher values create visible glows; lower values keep light localized.
- Glow Spread Distance: Determines how far light from emissive blocks bounces onto nearby surfaces. Increase to light larger areas; decrease to keep light concentrated.
Test Different Light Sources
Build a small structure with various light sources: torches, lanterns, glowing blocks, and lava. Observe how each responds to your settings. Increase emissive brightness if torches feel dim compared to the sun. Boost bloom if you want dramatic atmospheric lighting in caves or at night. Reduce glow spread if light bleeds unnaturally far onto distant walls. Adjust until your base feels well-lit and atmospheric without looking oversaturated.
