How to Configure the Sidebar and Action Bar in VanillaHUD
Sidebar Options
The sidebar is the scoreboard panel on the right side of the screen. In VanillaHUD you can usually reposition it, hide it, or change how it renders. Open the config screen and find the sidebar section. If you play on servers where the sidebar shows ads or irrelevant info, disable it. If you need it but it clashes with other overlays, move it or reduce its footprint. Remember the sidebar carries real data on many servers, so hiding it hides that data too.
Action Bar Options
The action bar is the single line of text above the hotbar, used for messages like item pickup names or ability cooldowns. VanillaHUD lets you reposition or hide it. If it overlaps your bossbar or a custom HUD, move it up or down. If it is too noisy, disable it, but note you will lose quick feedback from items and abilities.
Practical Setup Tips
- Change one element at a time and test in a real world, since the action bar and sidebar only appear when triggered.
- Watch for overlap with minimaps, armor displays, or potion indicators from other mods.
- Save your config after adjusting, or changes may not persist across restarts.
- If an element will not move, confirm it is enabled and that no other mod is controlling the same element.
A clean layout usually means keeping the sidebar only when needed and nudging the action bar so it never collides with the bossbar.
