Finding Ores Faster in Dark Caves

Use the Glow to Your Advantage

With Vanilla Glowing Ores installed, ore blocks emit a subtle luminous glow that cuts through cave darkness. This makes them visible from much farther away than standard textures, even in low-light conditions.

Steps:

1. Enter a cave system at any depth

2. Turn off your torches or reduce your held light source brightness to see the ore glow more clearly

3. Scan cave walls and ceilings—glowing ores will stand out against stone

4. Look for the characteristic shimmer even partially obscured by other blocks

Optimize Your Search Pattern

Instead of randomly exploring, move systematically through caves. The glow effect works best when you're not staring directly at bright light sources. If you're using a torch, hold it in your off-hand and keep your main hand free. This lets you spot ores from the corner of your vision more easily.
