Vanilla Glowing Ores Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need OptiFine or shaders to use this pack?
No. This pack uses vanilla emissive textures, so it works on completely vanilla Minecraft without any mods or shader installations.
Why can't I see the glow on my ores?
Make sure the resource pack is enabled and ranked above any conflicting packs in your resource pack list. If you're in bright daylight or near torches, the glow effect may be subtle—it's most visible in dark caves.
Does this work in the Nether and End?
Yes. Ancient debris, nether quartz, nether gold ore, and all other ores in those dimensions receive the glowing treatment.
Will this pack work with my other resource packs?
It depends on load order and what the other packs modify. Place Vanilla Glowing Ores higher in your resource pack list to prioritize its ore textures, or lower it if you prefer another pack's ore look.
Does the glow affect my FPS or performance?
No. Emissive textures are a built-in vanilla feature and have negligible performance impact compared to shaders or mods.
Can I see the glow through stone and other blocks?
No. The glow only appears on exposed ore blocks or when you're close enough to see them directly—it doesn't shine through solid blocks.
Does this work on servers?
Yes, as long as the server allows resource packs. The pack is client-side only and doesn't require server installation.
Are deepslate ores and copper included?
Yes. All standard ores, including their deepslate variants and copper ore, receive glowing textures.
Can I customize which ores glow or how bright they are?
This depends on the pack's design—check the pack's documentation or readme file for customization options. Most versions don't include built-in brightness adjustments.
Will this pack break my world or cause lag if I remove it?
No. Removing the pack is safe and won't corrupt your world—ores will simply revert to their vanilla appearance.
