Customize the Number of Fireflies in Your World

Access the Configuration Menu

Fireflies spawn naturally in swamp and mangrove swamp biomes at night, but you can adjust how many appear using the built-in menu system.

Run the command:

`

/function vanilla_fireflies:menu

`

This opens an interactive menu with options to increase or decrease firefly spawn rates.

Adjust Spawn Settings

The menu presents clickable options (or text commands, depending on your setup) to modify firefly density. Select your preferred level—from minimal ambient fireflies to a dense, magical swarm.

Changes apply immediately to newly loaded chunks. If you want existing chunks to reflect the new settings, you may need to reload them or travel to unloaded areas.

Save Your Preference

Once you've set your desired firefly count, the configuration persists for your world. You can return to the menu at any time to adjust further. This feature is entirely optional—if you never run the command, fireflies spawn at their default rate.
