Create an Optimal Firefly Viewing Area

Choose a Swamp Location

Select a swamp or mangrove swamp biome with open water and vegetation. Areas with shallow water and scattered trees create the most visually appealing firefly displays. Avoid dense forests where fireflies may be obscured.

Build an Observation Platform

Construct a simple platform or dock over the water using wood or stone blocks. This gives you a clear vantage point to watch fireflies dance across the water's surface at night. A platform 2–3 blocks above water works well.

Optimize Lighting and Atmosphere

Remove or minimize artificial light sources nearby—fireflies are most visible in darkness. Consider adding ambient lighting like lanterns or candles on your platform for comfort without overwhelming the firefly glow.

Adjust Spawn Rate if Needed

If you want a denser, more impressive display, run /function vanilla_fireflies:menu and increase the firefly count before settling in. Return to your platform at night to enjoy the enhanced magical ambiance.
