V-Paxel’s Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I craft a paxel?
Arrange the material (wood, stone, iron, diamond, or netherite) in a paxel pattern on a crafting table—typically three blocks across the top, one in the center, and one below that. Check the Craft Your First Paxel guide for the exact layout for your chosen tier.
What's the difference between paxel tiers?
Each tier (wood, stone, iron, diamond, netherite) mines faster and lasts longer than the previous one. Higher tiers can break harder blocks that lower tiers cannot, so choose based on what you're trying to mine.
How do I switch between hoe, shovel, and axe modes?
Hold sprint and right-click simultaneously with a paxel in your hand to cycle through modes. Each mode optimizes the paxel for different block types—refer to the Switch Between Paxel Modes guide for details on what each mode breaks best.
Can I use a paxel as a regular pickaxe?
Yes, paxels function as pickaxes by default and can break stone and ore blocks just like a standard pickaxe of the same tier. The mode-switching feature lets you also use it as a hoe, shovel, or axe without carrying separate tools.
What does the Charm of Mining Reach do?
The Charm of Mining Reach extends how far you can mine blocks from your position. It comes in three levels, each providing a greater reach increase—equip it and you'll be able to break blocks at a distance.
How do I get a Charm of Mining Reach?
Craft the charm using materials on a crafting table; the three levels require progressively more resources. See the Increase Your Mining Reach with Charm of Mining Reach guide for the specific recipes.
Do paxels work in water or lava?
Paxels function normally in water and lava, so you can mine underwater or in the Nether without switching tools. However, mining speed may be affected by the liquid depending on your game settings.
Can I enchant a paxel?
Yes, paxels can be enchanted on an enchanting table or with enchanted books just like standard tools. Enchantments like Efficiency, Unbreaking, and Fortune work as expected on their respective modes.
Why does my paxel break blocks slowly in a certain mode?
You may be using the wrong mode for that block type—make sure you've switched to the correct mode (hoe, shovel, or axe) for what you're trying to mine. Refer to the Switch Between Paxel Modes guide to confirm which mode is best for your target block.
Do paxels cause lag or performance issues?
Paxels are designed to be lightweight and should not cause noticeable performance problems. If you experience lag, it's likely due to other mods or world factors rather than the paxels themselves.
