Copy and Share Entity UUIDs

Exporting UUIDs for Documentation

UUIDs are useful for sharing entity information with others or keeping records of important mobs and players in your world.

Getting a Readable UUID

1. Run the /uuid command on your target:

`

/uuid @e[type=armor_stand,name="Monument",limit=1]

`

2. The UUID appears in your chat output in a standard format (typically 32 hexadecimal characters with hyphens).

3. Click the message or manually select and copy the UUID.

Uses for Saved UUIDs

  • Building documentation: Record which armor stands or entities are part of your build
  • Server management: Keep a list of important player UUIDs for permissions or tracking
  • Datapack development: Reference specific entities in command chains
  • Collaborative projects: Share entity identifiers with other players so they can target the same mobs

Storage Tips

Save UUIDs in a text file or spreadsheet alongside notes about what each entity is used for. This becomes invaluable when managing complex builds, automated farms, or multiplayer worlds where entity tracking matters.
