Set Up Your First Hay Golem Farm

Building the Golem

Start by gathering two Hay Bales and one Carved Pumpkin. Stack the Hay Bales vertically in your chosen farm location, then place the Carved Pumpkin on top. The golem will animate immediately.

Supplying Your Golem

Place a chest filled with seeds nearby—the Hay Golem will automatically pull seeds from it to plant on empty farmland blocks within its work area. Add bonemeal to the same chest; the golem uses this to accelerate crop growth.

Position a second empty chest close by for the golem to deposit harvested crops. The golem works best on flat, prepared farmland surrounded by your supply and collection chests.

Bonus Defense

Your Hay Golem will attack skeletons that approach and collect their dropped bones, which you can retrieve from the collection chest. The golem is immune to arrow damage, making it excellent protection for your farm against skeleton raids.
