Urban Sprawl Expansion Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I find a Soviet city?
Use the command /locate ussr_medium_mix to find the nearest mid-sized Soviet settlement, or explore plains and taiga biomes where Soviet structures naturally generate. Larger cities may be further away, so consider traveling significant distances or using multiple locate commands.
What's the best way to loot apartments without getting lost?
Mark doorways and stairwells with torches or blocks as you ascend multi-story buildings, and loot floor-by-floor rather than jumping between levels randomly. Each apartment is randomly furnished, so check all chests, barrels, and decorated blocks for loot.
Are desert pyramids actually dangerous?
Yes—desert pyramids contain explosive traps, puzzle rooms, and hostile mobs, so approach carefully and watch for pressure plates and suspicious block patterns. Bring blocks to bridge gaps and armor to survive trap damage.
Do villagers spawn in these custom towns?
Yes, villagers naturally inhabit the towns and settlements, and you can trade with them or relocate them using boats and minecarts. They may also defend themselves against hostile mobs in populated areas.
Can I disable certain structure types?
Structure generation is controlled through your world's datapack or mod config—check your mod folder or world settings to disable specific themes like Soviet cities or Greek villages if they conflict with your world design.
Why do some apartments look empty or identical?
Jigsaw blocks randomize room layouts and furniture placement, so some rooms may have minimal decoration by design; this is intentional variation, not a bug. Reload your chunks or create a new world if furniture genuinely fails to generate.
Where do I find Greek settlements?
Greek birch forest villages generate in birch forest biomes and feature calcite houses and multi-story buildings; use /locate europe or explore birch forests to find them.
Do these structures replace vanilla villages completely?
Yes, the mod replaces standard village generation with custom towns and cities, so you will not see vanilla villages in new terrain. Existing vanilla villages in old chunks remain unchanged.
What should I bring when exploring a new settlement?
Bring torches, a pickaxe, armor, food, and blocks for bridging gaps or marking paths; bring extra tools since trap rooms may damage equipment. A bow is useful for dealing with mobs in enclosed spaces.
Can I use this mod with other structure mods?
Compatibility depends on how other mods handle village and structure generation—test in a new world or check mod documentation if you plan to combine multiple structure mods, as conflicts may cause overlapping or missing structures.
