Optimizing Urban Resource Pack Performance
Adjust Texture Resolution
Urban Resource Pack uses 128× textures, which demand more VRAM and processing power than vanilla. If you experience lag or stuttering:
- Lower your render distance to 12–16 chunks
- Reduce your graphics settings in Video Settings (clouds, particles, entity shadows)
- Close unnecessary background applications to free up system memory
Enable Mipmapping
Mipmapping reduces texture aliasing and improves performance on distant blocks:
1. Open Video Settings
2. Find Mipmap Levels and set it to 2 or 4
3. Test performance and increase if stable
Use Shaders Selectively
While the pack is designed for shaders like BSL, they significantly impact frame rate. If your PC struggles:
- Use shaders only in creative mode or for screenshots
- Switch to vanilla lighting for survival gameplay
- Try lightweight shader alternatives if available
Monitor VRAM Usage
Check your GPU memory consumption. If it exceeds your card's capacity, the pack will stutter. Reduce render distance or switch to a lower-resolution resource pack for that world.
