Using the Updating Icon to Track Your Progress Across a Long World

A Simple Visual History

Because the icon refreshes on every load, your world list becomes a rolling snapshot of where you currently are in the world. Over a long playthrough, the icon gradually shifts from wilderness to whatever you have built, giving you a quick visual reminder of your progress without opening the world.

Practical Ways to Use It

1. Before quitting a session, walk to whatever you are proudest of or currently working on.

2. Save and quit. The next time you open the world list, that build is the face of your world.

3. When starting a new project, load the world from that new location so the icon reflects your latest work.

4. If you want a stable icon for a while, simply avoid moving before your next load — the icon will keep showing the same view.

Managing Multiple Worlds

With several worlds, each one keeps its own icon, so you can tell them apart at a glance by their current state rather than an outdated generation screenshot. This is especially handy for building-focused worlds, where the original icon no longer resembles what the world has become. Just remember the icon only changes when that specific world is loaded.
