Fixing a World Icon That Is Not Updating

Confirm the Mod Is Active

If your icon still looks like the original generation screenshot, first make sure the mod is actually loaded. Check the mods list on the title screen and confirm it appears there. If it is missing, the game is running without it and no icon refresh will happen.

Common Reasons the Icon Looks Unchanged

  • You are looking at a cached thumbnail. Quit fully to the title screen and reopen the Singleplayer menu so the list redraws.
  • You loaded the world but quit without letting it finish loading. The capture happens during load, so an interrupted load may not produce a new icon.
  • You are checking a different world than the one you loaded. Icons are per-world, so confirm you are looking at the right entry.
  • Another mod or resource pack is overriding the world list rendering. Temporarily disable other UI-affecting mods to test.

Step-by-Step Check

1.

2. Save and quit cleanly back to the title screen.

3. Open Singleplayer and look at the icon.

4. If it still has not changed, restart the game entirely and check again.

5. If it never changes across several clean loads, verify the mod version matches your game version.
