Convert excess materials into useful items via villagers

Create a material conversion pipeline

Many villagers buy common materials and sell useful items. With unlimited trades, you can convert large stockpiles of excess materials into exactly what you need.

Steps

1. Identify which villagers buy your excess materials. For example, some villagers accept wood, stone, or crops.

2. Check what they sell in return. Look for trades that give you items you actually need—tools, blocks, enchanted goods, or emeralds.

3. Gather your excess materials and bring them to the villager.

4. Trade in bulk. Without limits, you can convert your entire stockpile in one session.

Common conversions

  • Excess crops → Emeralds (via Farmers)
  • Excess wood → Sticks or other items
  • Excess stone → Tools or decorative blocks
  • Emeralds → Rare blocks or enchanted items (via other traders)

Efficiency tip

Combine this with item sorting systems or hoppers to automate the process. Feed materials into a villager station and collect the output continuously, turning your farms into production lines for whatever you need.
