Universal Shops Mod FAQ
6 questions players actually ask, answered.
What does the Universal Shops Mod add to a Minecraft server?
It adds a trading system that lets players build custom storefronts to exchange items with each other. You place a shop block, pick an item to sell, and set a price.
Do players need to install the mod to use the shops?
No, the mod runs entirely on the server, so connecting players can join with a normal client. Only the server needs the mod installed.
How do you craft a Player Trade Shop block?
You craft it using four planks, one wool, and one iron ingot. This block is what players use to start selling their items.
Where do you place a shop block?
You place it on top of or next to a storage block like a chest. This connects the shop to the container holding the items being sold.
What is an Admin Trade Shop and how does it differ from a Player Trade Shop?
An Admin Trade Shop is a special block for server owners that provides infinite items without needing a storage chest. A Player Trade Shop instead draws from a connected container.
How do you change a shop's price or the item it sells?
You click the shop block to open its settings menu. From there you can change the price, the sold item, and other options, including making items free or demanding specific items as payment.
