Troubleshooting a Universal Grid That Won't Open or Shows No Items
A Universal Grid that refuses to open, shows an empty screen, or displays an error is almost always a network or power problem, not a bug in the block itself.
Check the Network Connection
Make sure the Universal Grid is physically touching a cable, a machine, or another network block. A one-block gap breaks the connection. If you recently moved cables, re-place the Grid against the network and try again. Confirm the block is not rotated so its connection face points away from the cable.
Check Power and Controller
Refined Storage networks need energy. If your Controller is unpowered, every Grid on the network goes dark. Verify that:
- The Controller has a redstone signal or is set to ignore redstone, depending on your configuration.
- Your energy source (generator, solar, etc.) is producing and the network's energy buffer is not empty.
- No cable is broken between the Controller and the Grid.
Check Storage
If the Grid opens but shows no items, your storage disks may be empty, disconnected, or in a different network. Open a Disk Drive and confirm disks are inserted and the drive is cabled to the same network. Also check that you are not accidentally looking at a subnetwork separated by a Relay or Interface.
If everything checks out and the Grid still fails, break and replace it to force a network refresh.
