Setting Up Autocrafting and Monitoring Jobs with the Universal Grid

Autocrafting is where the Universal Grid really shines, because you can request crafts and watch them from the same block.

Prerequisites

You need a functioning autocrafting setup: a Pattern Grid to encode patterns, an Assembler or Crafter connected to the network, and enough storage for the ingredients. Patterns must be encoded and inserted into the Crafter before the Universal Grid can use them.

Requesting a Craft

1. Open the Universal Grid and switch to the Crafting Grid tab.

2. Click the item you want to craft in the recipe output slot, or use the JEI/REI recipe transfer button.

3. A confirmation window appears showing required ingredients. If you have them in storage, the request is accepted.

4. Switch to the Autocrafting Monitor tab to see the job progress. Each step shows as it completes.

5. If a job is stuck, check that the Crafter has power and that its patterns match the recipe.

Managing Jobs

The monitor lets you cancel a running job by clicking it. Cancelling returns unused ingredients to storage, though items already consumed may be lost depending on the recipe stage. Use the monitor to spot bottlenecks, such as a missing intermediate item that blocks the whole chain.
