Connect Your Minecraft Server to Discord via Matterbridge

Set Up Matterbridge First

Before configuring the plugin, you need a working Matterbridge instance running on a network you can access. Matterbridge acts as the relay hub between Minecraft and Discord (or other platforms). Make sure your Matterbridge server is running and you have a gateway configured that connects to your Discord server.

Configure the Plugin

1. Start your Minecraft server with the Universal Chat Bridge Plugin installed

2. Open config.yml in your plugin folder

3. Set url to your Matterbridge address (e.g., http://localhost:4242)

4. Enter your gateway name in the gateway field—this must match exactly what you named it in Matterbridge

5. Add a token value if your Matterbridge instance requires authentication

6. Save the file and restart your server

Verify the Connection

Once restarted, have a player send a message in-game. Check your Discord channel—the message should appear with the player's name. If nothing shows up, verify your gateway name matches and that Matterbridge is running and accessible at the URL you specified.
