Stop Spells from Interrupting Your Dodges
Understanding Roll Lock
Roll Lock prevents you from dodging while casting a spell. This is useful when you're channeling powerful magic and don't want an accidental roll to cancel it. However, you can configure when this restriction applies.
Configuring Roll Lock Behavior
1. Open your mod configuration file for Unified Combat
2. Locate the Roll Lock settings
3. Toggle Roll Lock on or off for attacks and spells separately
4. If enabled, you won't be able to dodge while actively casting—the game will show a blocked roll warning message and play a sound
5. Save and reload your world
Workaround: Use Whitelisted Spells
If you want to cast and dodge freely, check if your spell is on the Spell Whitelist. Whitelisted spells like Poison Arrow allow full movement and dodging during casting. If your preferred spell isn't whitelisted, you can edit the whitelist in the configuration to add it.
When Roll Lock Helps
Keep Roll Lock enabled for high-impact spells where interruption would waste mana and trigger the Mana Penalty and Spell Cooldown. Disable it for quick-cast spells where flexibility matters more.
