Set Up Multiplayer Health Tracking

Choose Your Health System

The HealthSetting config option determines how maximum health penalties are shared across players. Your choice depends on your server's playstyle.

Per-Player Mode

Each player maintains their own health pool. Deaths only affect the individual who died. Use this for competitive or independent play where players aren't responsible for each other.

Global Mode

All players share a single health counter. When anyone dies, everyone's maximum health decreases. This creates collective pressure and encourages teamwork to prevent deaths.

Team-Based Modes

Per Team: Groups players by Minecraft team assignments. Each team has its own health pool; deaths only penalize teammates.

Per FTB Team: Uses the FTB Utilities mod's team system instead. This integrates with FTB's permission and claim systems for more sophisticated team management.

Communicate Settings

Enable reducedHealthMessage so all players see health changes immediately. This transparency prevents confusion about why maximum health is dropping and reinforces the mod's consequences.
