Configure Health Loss Per Death

Adjust Penalty Severity

The healthPerDeath setting controls how many half-hearts you lose each time you die. A higher value makes death more punishing; a lower value is more forgiving.

Set Your Minimum Health Floor

Configure minimumHealth to prevent players from losing so much health they become unplayable. This is a safety net—even if you die repeatedly, you'll never drop below this threshold. Set it in half-hearts (e.g., 20 = 10 hearts).

Choose Health Scope

The HealthSetting option determines how health loss is tracked:

  • Per Player: Each player has their own health pool
  • Global: All players share one health counter
  • Per Team: Health is tracked by team membership
  • Per FTB Team: Uses FTB Utilities team system (requires mod installed)

Enable Death Notifications

Turn on reducedHealthMessage to notify players of their new maximum health when they respawn. This keeps everyone aware of the current penalty state and encourages careful play.
