Understanding Bookshelf Detection

The mod allows enchanting tables to recognize bookshelves submerged in water using the same detection rules as vanilla Minecraft. This means you need the correct number and arrangement of bookshelves to unlock the highest enchantment levels.

Optimal Bookshelf Placement

1. Build your enchanting table in a central location

2. Arrange bookshelves in a configuration that matches vanilla enchanting room design

3. Ensure bookshelves are fully submerged alongside your table

4. Test by opening the enchanting interface and observing available levels

Verification

If you're not seeing level 30 enchantments, you likely need more bookshelves or they're positioned incorrectly. Add additional bookshelves incrementally and recheck the table. The mod doesn't change how many bookshelves you need—only that they now work underwater.

Once configured properly, your underwater enchanting station will function identically to a surface setup, giving you access to all maximum-level enchantments for your equipment.
