Uncrafting Recipes Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I uncraft an item?
Place a crafted item in your crafting table grid (any slot works), and the uncrafting recipe will appear in the output slot. Take the result to receive the original components back.
Can I uncraft enchanted tools and weapons?
Yes, enchanted items can be uncrafted, but the enchantments are lost in the process—you'll only recover the base materials. Enchanted books from the uncrafting output cannot be recovered separately.
Do damaged tools uncraft differently than new ones?
Damaged tools uncraft the same way as undamaged ones and return the full amount of materials, making this a useful way to recover resources from worn gear.
What items don't have uncrafting recipes?
Most vanilla items have recipes, but some items like raw ores, basic blocks, and certain special items cannot be uncrafted. Check the mod's recipe list or try placing an item in the crafting table to see if a recipe exists.
Can I uncraft items that require multiple of the same ingredient?
Yes, if an item was crafted using multiple copies of an ingredient (like a pickaxe requiring three planks), uncrafting will return all of them.
Does this mod work with modded items?
The mod includes 720+ recipes for vanilla items only; modded items typically won't have uncrafting recipes unless another mod or addon adds them.
Can I uncraft items in a regular crafting table or only a special one?
You uncraft items in your standard crafting table—no special block is needed. The mod automatically adds uncrafting as an alternative use for the crafting grid.
Do I get back the exact same items or do they stack differently?
You receive the exact component items that were used to craft the original item, stacked normally in your inventory or crafting output.
Is there a performance impact from having 720+ recipes loaded?
The mod is optimized to handle its recipe count without significant lag, though performance depends on your overall modpack and system specs.
Can I disable uncrafting for specific items?
This depends on the mod's configuration options; check your mod config folder for settings to blacklist or disable recipes for particular items.
