Uncharted Seas FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need to be in Creative mode to use these blocks?
Yes, all Uncharted Seas blocks are Creative mode only and cannot be crafted in Survival mode. Start a new Creative world or switch to Creative mode in an existing world to access the naval building blocks from your inventory.
Can I make my ship actually sail across the water?
Yes, but you'll need to install the Create mod and Create Aeronautic alongside Uncharted Seas. Once installed, you can use Create's mechanical systems to turn your static ship build into a moving vessel.
What's the difference between this mod and other ship mods?
Uncharted Seas focuses specifically on decorative and structural blocks for building realistic ship interiors and exteriors, like dining halls and cabins. It's designed to work alongside movement mods rather than providing movement itself, making it ideal for roleplay and detailed builds.
Where do I find the ship blocks in my inventory?
Open your Creative inventory and search for naval or ship-themed blocks, or look through the mod's custom creative tab. The blocks are organized by category to help you find dining, cabin, bridge, and deck pieces easily.
Can I use these blocks in Survival mode at all?
No, these blocks are exclusively for Creative mode and do not have survival recipes or crafting methods. You must use Creative mode or Creative inventory access to place them.
Do I need Create to use this mod?
No, you can build beautiful static ships with just Uncharted Seas alone. Create is only needed if you want your finished ship to actually move across the water.
Can I recreate the Titanic with this mod?
Yes, the mod includes all the decorative blocks and structural pieces you'd need to recreate famous ships like the Titanic. Check the 'Recreating Famous Ships' guide for tips on scale, layout, and authentic interior design.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
Uncharted Seas itself is lightweight since it only adds blocks, but building massive ships with thousands of blocks will impact performance like any large build. Performance depends more on your world size and other mods than on Uncharted Seas alone.
Can I use these blocks for non-ship builds?
Absolutely—while designed for ships, the decorative blocks work great for any building project like mansions, restaurants, or themed structures. The mod's aesthetic is flexible enough for creative uses beyond naval builds.
What other mods work well with Uncharted Seas?
Create and Create Aeronautic are the primary companions for adding movement, but it also pairs well with decoration and furniture mods to enhance interior details. Any mod that doesn't conflict with block placement should work alongside it.
