Adjust Shadow Quality and Distance
Access Shader Settings
Open your pause menu and look for the Shader Options button (usually near the bottom of the settings menu). This opens the UltraVanilla configuration panel where you can fine-tune shadow behavior.
Configure Shadow Parameters
Look for settings related to shadow distance and shadow map resolution. Increasing shadow distance makes shadows visible from farther away, while shadow map resolution controls how sharp and detailed shadows appear. On lower-end PCs, reducing these values improves performance while keeping shadows visible nearby.
Test Your Changes
Apply your changes and load into your world. Stand in direct sunlight and look at shadows cast by trees, buildings, or terrain. Adjust the sliders incrementally—small changes often make a noticeable difference. If you experience frame rate drops, reduce shadow distance or resolution slightly.
Save Your Preferences
Once you find settings that balance visuals and performance for your system, the changes persist across sessions. You can always return to Shader Options to experiment further.
