Create a Custom World with Specific Terrain Settings
Customizing Your World
Instead of using preset worlds, you can fine-tune terrain generation to match your vision.
Accessing the Terrain Tab
1. Click Singleplayer from the main menu
2. Select Create New World
3. Look for the Terrain tab in the world creation menu
4. You'll see both preset options and individual sliders
Using Presets vs. Custom Settings
Presets like Archipelago, Supercontinent, Highlands, and Frozen North are pre-configured starting points. Select one to instantly apply balanced settings. Custom sliders let you adjust individual aspects like mountain height, continent size, river frequency, and snow line elevation.
Previewing Changes
Before creating your world, check the live preview map. This shows elevation (usually as a height gradient) and biome placement in real-time as you adjust sliders. This helps you avoid surprises like too-flat terrain or disconnected islands.
Sharing Settings
Once you're happy with your configuration, you can generate a short preset code to share with other players. They can paste this code to recreate your exact terrain settings.
