Ultra Terra Forged Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start a world with Ultra Terra Forged?
Click Singleplayer, create a new world, then open the Terrain tab before generating. Select a preset like Archipelago or Highlands, or adjust the sliders to customize terrain shape, then create the world.
What's the difference between the presets?
Each preset adjusts terrain settings differently: Archipelago creates scattered islands, Supercontinent generates one massive landmass, Highlands emphasizes mountains and valleys, and Frozen North lowers the snow line. You can see how each looks in the live preview map before committing.
Can I use this mod with biome mods like Biomes O' Plenty?
Yes, Ultra Terra Forged only changes landforms and doesn't add new biomes, so it works alongside any biome mod you want to use.
How do I find mountains, rivers, or other terrain features?
Use the command `/utf locate ` to find the nearest feature of that type and teleport to its surface—replace ` ` with what you're looking for like mountain, river, or ocean.
Why are rivers not flowing downhill or connecting properly?
Rivers in this mod follow realistic paths based on elevation, so they wind naturally and may flow in unexpected directions; check the live preview map to see water flow before creating your world, or adjust the river settings in the Terrain tab.
Can I share my custom world settings with friends?
Yes, the mod generates short preset codes for your custom settings that you can share with other players, who can enter them in the Terrain tab to recreate your exact world configuration.
Do caves generate differently with this mod?
Yes, cave networks, lava tubes, and caverns are carved based on surface terrain shape, so mountains have more complex cave systems while flat areas have simpler ones.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
World generation with realistic terrain is more complex than vanilla, so initial world creation and chunk loading may take longer; performance during gameplay depends on your hardware and other mods installed.
How do I adjust where snow appears on mountains?
The mod automatically adjusts snow lines based on slope direction—snow sits lower on north-facing slopes and higher on south-facing ones, but you can also control overall snow line height through the Terrain tab sliders.
Can I use the live preview map to plan my base location?
Yes, the preview map shows elevation and biome layout before world creation, so you can identify good base locations like flat areas near rivers or mountain peaks before generating the world.
