Enhance Light Bounce and Indirect Lighting in Indoor Spaces

Understanding Global Illumination

Light bounce—also called indirect lighting—makes interior spaces more realistic by simulating light reflecting between surfaces. This shader pack improves this effect throughout your world.

Adjusting Bounce Intensity

1. Open shader settings and search for Global Illumination, Indirect Lighting, or Light Bounce

2. Increase the slider to make interior rooms brighter and more naturally lit

3. Decrease it if interiors look too bright or unrealistic

4. Higher values use more processing power

Testing in Different Spaces

Build or visit:

  • Underground rooms with only one light source
  • Caves with minimal lighting
  • Enclosed structures with small windows

Light should gradually fade into darkness rather than creating harsh shadows. Colored blocks (like red wool) should tint nearby surfaces slightly.

Performance Considerations

If light bounce causes lag, reduce the intensity or check for quality settings. Lower quality modes calculate fewer light bounces but run faster. Find the balance between visual quality and playable frame rates for your hardware.
