Create a Custom Armor Gradient Across Your Full Set

Plan Your Color Scheme

Decide which trim materials you want on each armor piece. Different materials create different colors—consider how they'll look together across your helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots. You can use the creative inventory search #new_materials to preview all available trim colors at once.

Apply Trims to Each Piece

1. Open a smithing table

2. Place your first armor piece (e.g., helmet) in the left slot

3. Add an armor trim template in the second left slot

4. Put your chosen trim material in the material slot

5. Collect the trimmed piece

6. Repeat for chestplate, leggings, and boots using different materials

Tips for Best Results

Mix rare and common materials to create visual contrast. Ender pearls, slime balls, and nether stars work well as accent colors. Test combinations on a single piece before committing to your full set. If a trim doesn't match your vision, you can apply a new one over it using the smithing table again.
