Trims Color Splash Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start using the mod?
Place a smithing table, put an armor piece and any smithing template in the left slots, add one of the new trim materials to the material slot, and take your colored armor out. You can find all available materials by typing #new_materials in the creative inventory search bar.
What items can I use as trim materials?
The mod adds over 29 new materials including common items like slime balls and breeze rods, rare items like ender pearls and nether stars, and a special rose gold alloy you can craft. Use #trim_materials in creative mode to see the complete list.
How do I make armor trims invisible?
Use glass as your trim material in the smithing table—it will visually remove the trim from that specific armor piece while keeping the armor functional.
Can I create gradient armor with multiple colors?
Yes, you can mix and match different trim materials across your armor set by applying different materials to each piece, allowing you to build custom color gradients.
How do I craft rose gold trim material?
Rose gold is a special alloy item you craft specifically for use as armor trim; check the crafting recipes in-game or use the #new_materials search to locate the recipe.
Do I need a specific template for each armor piece?
Yes, you need to use the appropriate smithing template for each armor piece you want to trim, just like vanilla armor trimming.
Will this mod work with my other mods?
The mod uses the standard smithing table mechanics, so it should work with most other mods, but compatibility depends on whether other mods modify the smithing table or add conflicting materials.
Can I use these materials on netherite armor?
Yes, these trim materials work on any armor piece that can be trimmed in the smithing table, including netherite.
What if I don't see the new materials in my inventory?
Make sure the mod is properly installed and enabled, then try typing #new_materials or #trim_materials in the creative inventory search bar to locate them.
Do the trim materials affect armor stats or durability?
No, trim materials are purely cosmetic and don't change your armor's protection, durability, or any other stats.
