Comparing Armor Visibility Between Vanilla and Trimmed Styles

Understanding the Visual Difference

The Trimmable Minimal Armor Resource Pack reduces armor texture scale so your player skin remains visible beneath gear. This is especially noticeable on the torso, arms, and legs where vanilla armor typically covers large portions of your character model.

How to See the Changes

1. Equip a full set of armor – try iron, diamond, or netherite for the most obvious comparison

2. Stand in front of a mirror or use F5 to toggle third-person view and inspect your character

3. Look at the gaps – you'll notice more of your base skin color and texture showing through between armor plates

4. Check your helmet – the face area will be less obscured, allowing your skin's facial features to remain visible

5. Rotate your character – view from different angles to see how trim patterns still appear subtly without overwhelming the design

Trim Compatibility

If you've applied armor trim using smithing tables, the decorative patterns will still display on your minimized armor. The trim designs scale proportionally, maintaining their visual presence while keeping the overall armor footprint smaller.

This balance lets you enjoy both protective gear aesthetics and your custom skin details simultaneously.
