Getting the Most Drops from a Tree with Tree Vein Miner

What drops and why it matters

When the mod clears a tree, the logs and leaves are removed together. Logs drop as normal log items. Leaves are the interesting part: in vanilla, leaves only drop saplings and apples when they decay naturally or are broken by certain means, so how the mod handles them affects what you actually collect.

Practical steps

1. Before felling, make sure you have empty inventory space, since a large tree can produce a lot of log items at once.

2. Crouch and break the base log to trigger the full clear.

3. Walk the area under where the canopy was and pick up any saplings, apples, or sticks that dropped.

4. If you notice leaves are not dropping saplings or apples at all, that is the mod's drop behavior, not a bug you can fix by mining differently. If you need saplings, let some leaves decay naturally instead of triggering the mod on that tree.

Tips

  • Fell trees one at a time so drops do not overlap and despawn while you are elsewhere.
  • Use a tool with the right enchantments for logs if you want maximum log yield; the mod does not change enchantment behavior, it only changes which blocks are removed.
