Tree Vein Miner Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I actually use Tree Vein Miner to cut down a tree?
Crouch (hold sneak) and break a single log block on the tree while crouching. The mod then automatically destroys the rest of that tree's logs and leaves for you.
Why isn't Tree Vein Miner working when I break a log?
You're probably not crouching. The mod only triggers when you are sneaking while you break the log block, so hold sneak the whole time you mine it.
Does it break the leaves too, or just the logs?
By default it destroys both the logs and the leaves of the tree. If you only want the logs gone, you need to change the mod's behavior in its config.
How do I make it only break logs and leave the leaves alone?
Open the mod's config file and disable leaf destruction (often labeled something like 'break leaves'). After that, only the log blocks of the tree will be removed.
Will Tree Vein Miner destroy my tree farm or my wooden builds?
It can, because it treats connected logs as one tree. To protect farms and builds, either avoid crouching when breaking those logs or turn the mod off / restrict it in the config.
How do I stop it from wiping out my whole tree farm?
Don't crouch while breaking logs in your farm, or disable the mod for that area via its config. Many players keep the mod off and only enable it when felling wild trees.
Do I get all the drops from the tree, or do some items disappear?
You normally get the drops from the logs and leaves that are destroyed, but very large trees can drop more items than fit in your inventory. Clear space or use a mod that collects drops before felling big trees.
Does Tree Vein Miner work on modded trees and other wood types?
It generally works on any block tagged as a log, including most modded wood types, as long as the mod recognizes the tree structure. Some unusual modded trees may not be detected correctly.
Can I use Tree Vein Miner on a server with other players?
Yes, but the mod usually needs to be installed on the server side as well for it to function. On servers where it isn't installed, crouch-breaking a log will just behave like normal mining.
Does Tree Vein Miner cause lag when I fell a big tree?
Felling a very large tree can cause a brief lag spike because many blocks are destroyed at once. If you notice stuttering, avoid using it on massive trees or lower your render/simulation settings.
