How to Fell a Tree from the Bottom

Basic Tree Felling

Tree Trimmer lets you harvest entire trees by breaking a single log block repeatedly from the ground level—no climbing required.

Steps:

1. Stand at the base of any tree trunk

2. Look at the lowest log block

3. Break it by left-clicking (or your configured break key)

4. Continue breaking the same block location repeatedly

5. Each break removes one log from above, dropping it as an item

6. Keep breaking until the entire trunk is gone

What to Expect

The data pack tracks the tree's height automatically. If a trunk is 10 blocks tall, you'll need to break that bottom block 10 times. Each break triggers a log to fall from somewhere above and drop as harvestable wood.

This works on trees of any height and shape, making it ideal for both survival harvesting and large-scale building projects. The mechanic preserves vanilla gameplay—you're still breaking blocks and collecting wood, just more efficiently.
